HA(L)-3 DOOR GUNNER & GROUND PERSONNEL​

The above  door gunner is wearing a CS/FRP1 Coverall Flying Summer Fire Resistant Polyamide suit, Aircrewman Body Armor, B-3A Summer Leather Gloves or GS/FRP1 gloves and a MIL-L-15881 Inflatable Life Preserver, Pouch Type.

 

HA(L)-3 crews normally carried  personal weapons such as M16s and handguns to be used in case of landing or crash in enemy-held territory.

 

Seawolves UH-1Bs HUEYS carried a vast array of armament, ranging from M16 and M157/8 Sub-systems (4 forward-fixed fixed Cal.7.62mm M60 Machine guns plus 7 tubes 2.75” FFAR rockets launchers) to M59 or M63 Sub-system using either Cal.12.7mm M2 Machine Guns or M134 Miniguns.

LANDING SIGNALMAN ENLISTED​

This LSE is wearing a yellow Deck Identification Vest, standard US ARMY OG107 pants, jungle boots, M-1950 Heavy Gloves, M-1944 Goggles, and a pair of PRU-1/P Ear Sound Protectors.

 

A “REMOVE BEFORE FLIGHT” flag and a Safety Class D Flashlight are hanging from his pockets.

 

The red-pink coloured Safety Flashlight was specially designed for use in environments where explosive gases or liquids were present.
