Stephen E. CRAMER joined the US NAVY RESERVE in April 1968 and became qualified as helicopter Naval Aviator. In June 1971 he was assigned to HA(L)-3 DET 6 at Phu Loi and was promoted at Lieutenant in November 1971. His APH-6 helmet has been repainted upon arrival at HA(L)-3 in glossy OD paint overall over the reflective tape, faintly leaving the pilot’s name on the back.​​​​

This OG107 shirt belonged to Duane R. STEINER, a Helicopter Naval Aviator who first served in HS-1, HS-7, HS-9 and HS-11 after joining the US NAVY in August 1959.

In 1968 at the end of his training course with the US ARMY at Fort Rucker, Alabama, he was transferred as a LT COMMANDER to HA(L)-3 DET 1 then based at the US NAVY “SOLID ANCHOR” FIREBASE at Nam Can in the Ca Mau peninsula.
On January 8, 1971, he was awarded with the Distinguished Flying Cross for his skill and courage demonstrated while flying a mission in support to ARVN troops. He left HA(L)-3 in June 1971.
