SOCIETÉ LES COMPLEXES VERRE RÉSINE, TYPE 27

Little is known about this helmet which was proposed, during the 1950 evaluation process, as a possible replacement for the P-1A and P-3 due to be tested but not yet delivered. The delay occurred due to the US administration not deciding about who should have taken responsibility in giving the permission to export the helmets, or whether to give the possibility to produce it under license in Switzerland.

It could be a kind of prototype considering the odd configuration of the oxygen mask leather fitting pads and the strange leather supports (for communication harness ?).

The helmet was rated as unsatisfactory due to the lack of a chin and nape strap, the leather padding being directly in contact with the pilot’s head, heat build-up and providing no possibility of adjustment for proper fit.
