SCHUTZMASKE "SCHUMA" 74 

 

During the mid- late 80's/ early 90's, Swiss AF evaluated a number of chemical/ Biological Warfare (CBW) pilot protective systems.


Up to that point, the pilots were only equipped with the "Schuma" ( "Schutzmaske" - Protective Mask) 74". For jet operations it was worn before boarding and after landing, with all the resulting possible contamination problems; on helicopter, not having any kind of communication system installed, it was used with a TMC throat microphone.

The carrying  bag and the kit of accessories the mask came with. The mask configuration the same for the whole army.
