P-4 A

The P-4A has never been in service with the Swiss AF, but is shown here due to the fact that it is directly linked with an important page of Swiss aviation history.

This type of helmet was worn by Bill Lear, Jr. during the test flights with the FFA "Flugzeug Fabrik Altenrhein" P-16 fighter-bomber.

Due to accidents and political troubles, the project was eventually abandoned, but a part of it survived; its revolutionary airfoil design was adopted for the Learjet aircraft family.
