DDR LSK/ LV ZSh-3M 

 

This ZSh-3M helmet of the Air Force (Luftstreitkräfte) of the NVA
(Nationale Volksarmee - National People's Army) is characterized by the hardshell orange color that would help the finding of a pilot ditched into the Baltic Sea, where pilots of the DDR were training.

This specimen has been hand signed by the personnel of an unknown unit - probably presented as a going away gift.
