USN H-2
![]() | The USN H-2 is a very little known flight helmet and is even much less documented than the H-1 type. The GENTEX H-2 appeared probably around 1947. The shell was fabricated from white-painted fiberglass and had a ribbed appearance (much like its successors H-3 and H-4). |

The speakers were embedded into the ear padding, and the mike was the standard USN type mounted on a swiveling arm. An Oxygen mask could be attached to the leather tabs with pull-dots. On this particular helmet the leather tabs have been cut probably in order to use it on helos. This grouping photo shows the H-2 flight helmet laying on a BuAer Nylon Flight Suit and a pair of B-3 gloves. |
