LEFT: This “Major” is shown consulting a Hunter Mk. 58 pocket checklist. He is
wearing a leather pilot jacket, a model 1950 flight suit (“Pilotenkombi 50”),
model 1963 flight boots (“Pilotenschuhe 63”) and a modified CSU-13A/P anti-G
garment. A pair of sunglasses completes the equipment (Swiss made copy of
American optical sunglasses, with improved frame). On the ground lies a
Gentex/Sportex made H-5 helmet and a carry bag for personal items, the "Effektentasche".
TOP CENTER: In case of ditching, a small nitrogen-filled bottle could be fired
to pressurize the anti-G garment which could then be used as a flotation device.
RIGHT: The pilot is examining a practice/inert model of an Oerlikon 8 cm
air-to-ground unguided rocket (“8 cm Oe Flz Rak”). | ||
