In order to solve the problems described in the Gueneau 316 (tendency of the helmet to scratch the canopies due to its weight during high-"G" manoeuvres) , a kit of leather pads was fitted.

The leather pads are attached to the helmet and to the visor knobs with biadesive tape.

Two neoprene rings are applied in front and aft of the visor mechanism mounting plates, and below the two top/centre (unpunched) pads.

The modified L/H oxygen mask bayonet. The end rivet is drilled out, a threaded insert is applied, and a locking pin is installed. The pin goes into the (also modified) Bayonet receiver and is locked in position by a spring loaded bracket.

To unlock the bayonet the bracket must be pushed outwards.
