Used on the first DH-100 Vampires delivered in 1946, is of the same designs the helmets worn by the Royal Air Force pilots during World War II, with some minor modifications.

Those helmets were phased out (as was the "Stoffhaube"), with the introduction of ejection seats.

The oxygen mask is a British H-Type.
